Don't buy factory seconds, closeouts, or blems from the home improvement box stores or the 'liquidators'.  Go see our friend Gary at Best Floor Gallery in Plainfield.  They have a great selection, tons of displays with samples in the store, and can get anything you could want!  Gary offers factory direct top-grade products at a fair price.  Check out some of our work in the tile gallery.

As far as exterior caulk goes, Geocel annihilates the competition.  A variety of colors are available, it will stick to ANYTHING (wet shingles and brick/mortar), it is paintable,  retains its flexibility to unbelievably low temperatures, and drastically outperforms silicone.  This stuff is the BEST!  Depending on where you buy it, it is marketed under ProFlex and Ultima, but always has the Geocel brand on the tube.

For kitchens and baths, we like the durability and sheen of Polyseamseal Ultra High Gloss Tub & Tile Kitchen & Bath Sealant.  This product looks amazing on fiberglass or acrylic tub surrounds and is also paintable.

For your general construction projects, nothing beats PL Premium!  This stuff is amazingly strong and sticks to almost anything (other than polystyrene).

If you have a small mold problem, first fix your leak (mold won't grow without moisture).  Then, use Zinsser's Perma-Wash on non-porous surfaces or MoldSTAT or OxyMold MX-501 on porous surfaces to remove and kill the mold.  Bleach does NOT kill mold!  To prevent regrowth, check out Zinsser's Perma-Guard clear sealer, Perma-White tintable exterior paint, and ADD-2 additive for paints, stains, and wallpaper adhesives.  These products work great!

Save money!  We get our Sunco cabinets manufacturer direct.  These are RTA (ready to assemble) which means greatly reduced packaging and shipping volume, less chance of damage during shipping (because they are protected in a box), and lower cost because we assemble them in minutes on your jobsite!  Their cabinets are all wood (solid faces and frames with plywood sides, shelves, and drawers) and contain NO particulate or MDF with printed sticker finishes which you find at the home improvement box stores.  These products are available at MUCH lower prices than the lesser quality box store cabinets.  Check out some of our work in the cabinet gallery.

Carter-Lee (Pro-Build) of Indianapolis is the best place to find hard-to-find species of wood, odd or unique molding profiles, even rubberized flexible trim!  They also can mill ANYTHING you can come up with.  Check out this crazy profile I had milled  from clear cedar to reproduce some custom plantation shutters from the 1930s!

Hands-down the best windows and doors we have ever used are Andersen.  Attractive, lots of options, low maintenance, great performance, well built, enough said!  Check out some of our work in our window gallery.

We also love Larson storm doors.  Just like Andersen above, they are attractive, well built, low maintenance, easy to install, and offer lots of options - the retractable screens are great!

If you don't want to replace your windows, but need to raise your thermal efficiency, the Larson insider storm window is a GREAT alternative at about 25% of the cost of a new window.  We installed these on every window for Frank and Pat in their 1939 home with original leaded-glass (like stained glass) windows.  This allowed them to preserve the exterior look of their historic home and lower their heating costs.  See their review on our testimonials page.

Our lumberyard of choice is Menards.  They offer good products at good prices.  We use their 5/4x6 pressure treated decking exclusively on our docks and decks because it is 15% thicker than the competitor's standard treated decking.

Need hard to find electrical components? Allied Wholesale Electrical Supply is the place to go.  They have sourced obsolete breakers from the early 1970s for us .

If you want good product, don't buy tile from the home improvement box stores.  Much of the product they carry is NOT first-run quality.  You will often get over-fired or irregular sized products.  Check out Louisville and Dal tile for a great variety of high quality products.  They are both located on the Northeast side of Indianapolis.  Also, look at some of our work in the tile gallery.
